In praise of summer reading programs

In this issue, I give a shout out to library summer reading programs and share my latest interviews.

But first...coming to NetGalley in August
Remainders Ad

My publisher, Black Rose Writing, will post my novel The Remainders on NetGalley on August 1. If you're not familiar with NetGalley, it is a respected website where libraries, reviewers, influencers, and others in the book industry post reviews and make recommendations. This can greatly help the sales of a book.

If you're on NetGalley, or know someone who is, look for The Remainders starting August 1 and be sure to request and review it. And if you've already read my books, please post reviews on Amazon or where you bought my books. Reviews help, and I greatly appreciate them.

You can learn more about The Remainders and where to buy it on Kindle and paperback on my website.

Writers write, but we also read. And I've been way behind on my reading. I got an ARC of Anna Daughterty's upcoming novel Reaching for Grace, and I still hadn't opened it in July. (Facepalm. Sigh.) I had to do something to get caught up with my TBR pile.

Fortunately, our local library has an adult summer reading program. We get a nice book bag, and we fill it up with books we read for the next 20 days. When we're done, we turn in our tracking sheet for a prize drawing. But the real prize was I was able to get through my TBR pile and discover some interesting books. Check out this post to learn about my TBR pile.

If you have children, libraries have summer reading programs for them too. It's a good way to keep your kids learning during school break and encourage them to develop a lifelong love for reading.

Make the library part of your summer activities. You'll find plenty of fun and educational programs for your whole family.

If you'd like to learn more about the benefits of reading, check out these other posts on my website:

If you want to add the heartwarming Christian romance Reaching for Grace to your reading list, preorder it now on Amazon and look for it on Kindle and paperback on August 29.
