Writers write, but we also read. And I've been way behind on my reading. I got an ARC of Anna Daughterty's upcoming novel Reaching for Grace, and I still hadn't opened it in July. (Facepalm. Sigh.) I had to do something to get caught up with my TBR pile.
Fortunately, our local library has an adult summer reading program. We get a nice book bag, and we fill it up with books we read for the next 20 days. When we're done, we turn in our tracking sheet for a prize drawing. But the real prize was I was able to get through my TBR pile and discover some interesting books. Check out this post to learn about my TBR pile.
If you have children, libraries have summer reading programs for them too. It's a good way to keep your kids learning during school break and encourage them to develop a lifelong love for reading.
Make the library part of your summer activities. You'll find plenty of fun and educational programs for your whole family.
