I will moderate a panel discussion at the March meeting of the Orange
County Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (OCSTC), "Finding
Opportunity in a Difficult Economy." This panel discussion explores
the state of today’s economy and provides practical advice for those
looking for work or wanting to further their careers.
Among the topics to be covered are:
- Is the job market getting
worse or better?
- What do you do after you’ve
been downsized? What strategies can you use to find a job or stay
afloat before you do?
- How do you further your career
when job opportunities, promotions, and raises are scarce?
- How do you position yourself
for an economic recovery?
The panelists provide insight from inside and outside
of the technical communications field:

The meeting is at the Irvine Marriott, March 19, 2002 from 6:00 to 9:00
p.m. Admission, which includes dinner, is $21 for STC members, $23 for
non-members or $16 for students if made by the March 15th deadline. After
that date, the fee for everyone is $31.
