Reseda
High School
Vocal Ensemble
One of the things I
enjoyed at Reseda was singing in the various choral groups, including
Vocal Ensemble and Choir. We sang in concerts, caroled at various San
Fernando Valley malls, performed once at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, and
produced musicals. I was fortunate to be able to perform with some
talented people, several of whom have gone on to professional music
careers, including Catherine Fries, Erin Kenney, Perry Lambert, and Jeff
Marsh.

1977-78 Vocal Ensemble
As you can tell from the fashions, yes, this is the
1970's. (No, the shirts were not really Qiana.) The guy with the goofy
sideburns went on to become a writer.
1977 Broadway Fantasia
In our 1977 show, we performed excerpts from "Plain and
Fancy," "Mame," and "Oliver." (Please excuse the
images. My mom used a 110 Kodak Instamatic, when I begged her to use the
2.1-megapixel Olympus with the 4X optical zoom. :) )
Plain and Fancy
Two of our Vocal Ensemble's finest performers, Catherine Fries (L) and Angel
Gurrola (R) in a scene from "Plain and Fancy." Sadly, Angel, who
was a good friend of mine from high school, passed away before our
ten-year reunion.
Mame
The obligatory chorus line from "Mame." I don't know where I am in this picture,
but I was probably out of step.
1979 Choir-Ensemble Awards Banquet
The year we graduated, we had a banquet. This is the
cover I drew for the program.
